What is Personal Training?
Personal Training provides one-on-one education, guidance, instruction and motivation to clients who want to achieve their personal fitness goals. Trainers design an exercise program tailored to each individual that incorporates the client’s goals, fitness level, and experience. CNU students, faculty, staff and members of The Freeman Center are eligible to purchase personal training sessions.

How Do I Get Started?
Call the Fitness Director to make an appointment for a free initial consultation at 594-7882 ( Lisa Wingfield, Trieshmann Health and Fitness Pavilion Director). You will fill out a basic health form and will have an opportunity to discuss your goals and questions about training. When you are cleared for exercise, you may then purchase your desired number of sessions. Your trainer will then contact you to meet with you and arrange for your workout schedule.

About Your Trainers
Your trainer is currently nationally certified under ACSM, NSCA, AFAA, IDEA, ACE (or another comparable certifying body), or possesses a BS or MS in Exercise Physiology, and has demonstrated an acceptable level of knowledge prior to hire.
Your trainer will be on time for each appointment. If your trainer is late to an appointment, he or she will offer you an additional free session.
If you are late (in excess of 5 minutes), or fail to give at least a 2-hour prior notice, you will be charged for the full amount of the session with no make up time.
All trainers are to offer fitness testing as part of the initial session. You have the option of declining fitness testing if you choose, and may do a regular workout instead. However, it is strongly encouraged to have fitness testing done, as it can be very useful to have baseline data to help design you exercise program.
All Trainers are to refrain from offering any medical advice regarding any medical issues. While trainers are qualified to prescribe exercise modalities for the healthy population, they are not physicians and cannot diagnose any condition or illness. If you have an injury, illness, or any kind of condition that might adversely affect your progress in an exercise program, it is your responsibility to inform the trainer.
Once you have completed your first session of personal training, no refunds can be offered.
